Green Water

water

Water is the most precious resource known to man. Water is abused, misused and misunderstood. Our world has a renewable but limited supply of water. The world population is expected to exceed 9 billion by 2025 and some areas will exceed their renewable water supply. Several countries are expected to face moderate to severe water stress due to climate changes, and water shortages are likely to increase. South Africans need to prepare themselves for an ecological disaster which will not only affect economic growth but there will not be enough water for many people to live on.

It takes more water to grow the food we eat every day than we need for drinking, cooking and bathing. A cup of coffee needs one hundred and forty litres of water to grow, produce and package. One kilogram of beef requires twenty-two thousand litres of water, while two litres of milk needs two thousand litres of water to produce. In our homes an average bath uses one hundred and twenty litres of water while a washing machine uses one hundred litres. We need to recycle and conserve this waste water. We need to find environmentally friendly solutions for our homes, commercial properties, industry and agriculture. We need to minimize our effect on the environment and maximize our efficient use of resources and save money.

Green Water offers environmental solutions to water conservation within a sustainable plan.

  • Rainwater harvesting and storage
  • Constructed wetlands and reed beds for treating waste water
